And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 And We bestowed his household to him and one more similar to it – as a mercy from Us, and as a remembrance for the people of intellect. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 And make mention of Our bondmen, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of parts and vision. 45 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 wherein they shall recline, wherein they shall ask for abundant fruit and drinks, 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And other torments, like thereof, conjoined. 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 But why is it that we cannot see men whom we had considered as wicked 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Such disputes will certainly take place among the dwellers of hell fire. 64
