People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
