And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 By thy life, in their intoxication they were wandering bewildered. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood [i.e. the people of Madyan (Midian) to whom Prophet Shu'aib was sent by Allah), were also Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.). 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
