The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
