Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
