and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
