And [yet,] those who are bent on denying the truth do say: "We shall never believe in this Qur'an, and neither in whatever there still remains of earlier revelations!" But if thou couldst only see [how it will be on Judgment Day,] when these evildoers shall be made to stand before their Sustainer, hurling reproaches back and forth at one another! Those [of them] who had been weak [on earth] will say unto those who had gloried in their arrogance: "Had it not been for you, we would certainly have been believers!" 31 The arrogant ones will say to those who had been despised: "Was it we who kept you back from Guidance after it reached you? Nay, rather, it was ye who transgressed. 32 Those who were despised say unto those who were proud: Nay but (it was your) scheming night and day, when ye commanded us to disbelieve in Allah and set up rivals unto Him. And they are filled with remorse when they behold the doom; and We place carcans on the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they requited aught save what they used to do? 33 For it has been thus whenever We sent a warner to any community. Its affluent ones said, "We reject what you have been sent with." 34 They always said: “We have more wealth and children than you have, and we shall not be chastised.” 35 Say: "Verily my Lord increases or restricts the provision of whosoever He will;" but most men do not understand. 36
