Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
