The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
