▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ But nay! I swear by the falling of stars; 75 and that is a mighty oath, if you but knew 76 that this is an honorable Quran 77 In a book that is protected 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 It has been revealed by the Lord of all the worlds. 80 Is it such a talk (this Quran) that you (disbelievers) deny? 81 And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false? 82 Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) 83 and that hour you are watching 84 (And We are nigher him than you, but you do not see Us) 85 why, if you are not at Our disposal, 86 can you not cause that [ebbing life] to return - if what you claim is true? 87 (If a dying soul) is of those near to God, 88 Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. 89 And if he is one of those on the right hand, 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 But if one happens to be of those who are wont to call the truth a lie, and [thus] go astray, 92 The welcome will be boiling water 93 and the heat of a blazing fire! 94 That indeed is the absolute truth. 95 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
