The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
