Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
