Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
