Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
