The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great event, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
