The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
