The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
