The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
