Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
