The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then he mustered 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
