The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 On a grievous day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 and be told: "This is the [very thing] to which you were wont to give the lie!" 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
