The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
