The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 About what they used to do. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
