The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
