۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. 58 (Jesus) was only a creature whom We favoured and made an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 And let not the Satan hinder you; verily he is unto you an enemy manifest. 62 When Jesus came with the signs, he said: "I have come to you with authority, and to explain some thing about which you are at variance. So fear God, and follow me. 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 Then the groups differed amongst themselves; therefore ruin is for the unjust by the punishment of an agonising day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 Friends on that day will be foes, one to another,- except the Righteous. 67
