Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
