The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Then where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
