The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
