Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
