He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 you attended to him, 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 and fears (Allah), 9 You neglect. 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 In honored books, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
