[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 Make my task easy 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 "And make him share my task: 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 when We inspired thy mother with this inspiration: 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 Answered He: "Fear not! Verily, I shall be with you two, hearing and seeing [all]. 46 So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance. 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
