And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79
