Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 a guide and a mercy for those who do good, 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
