Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the swift scatterers 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
