Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
