Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is no joke. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
