In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
