Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
