Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
True are the words of God the Almighty.
