A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 (People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) 3 How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. 4 And when Our scourge fell upon them their only cry was: 'We are indeed transgressors.' 5 So We shall question those unto whom a Message was sent, and We shall question the Envoys, 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 And true will be the weighing on that Day; and those whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance - it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state; 8 and he whose scales are light -- they have lost their soul for wronging Our signs. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10
