Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
