ALIF LAM MIM. 1 These are verses of the Book of Wisdom 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 people who are steadfast in prayer, pay the religious tax, and have firm belief in the life to come. 4 It is they who are on true guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 When Our revelations are recited to them, they turn back on their heels out of pride as if they did not hear them or their ears had been sealed off. Warn them of the painful torment. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
