The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. 2 nor does he speak out of his own desire. 3 This is nothing but a revelation that is conveyed to him, 4 He was taught by one Mighty in Power, 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 And reached the highest pinnacle. 7 Then he drew near, then he bowed 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 Then he revealed to Allah's servant whatever he had to reveal. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 What! So do you dispute with him regarding what he saw? 12 And indeed he did see the Spectacle again. 13 By the Lote-tree beyond which none can pass, 14 Near it is the Paradise of Abode. 15 when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. 16 Neither did sight falter nor exceed the bounds. 17 He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of the existence of his Lord. 18 Have you considered Lat and 'Uzza, 19 and about the third deity, al-Manat? 20 What! for you the males and for Him the females! 21 That is indeed an unjust division. 22 They are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! 23 Does man imagine that whatever he wishes for is right for him? 24 Nay! for Allah is the hereafter and the former (life). 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
