The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the mount. 1 By a Decree inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the Visited House, 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Those who sport entering into vain discourses. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 We shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. 22 They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
