Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
