Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
