The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is the Book; there is no doubt in it. It is a guide for those who are mindful of God, 2 who believe in the unseen, establish the Salats and expend (in Our way) out of what We have bestowed on them; 3 And who believe in this (Qur’an) which has been sent down upon you, O beloved Prophet, (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) and what was sent down before you; and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. 5 As for those who have rejected (these things), it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they are not going to believe. 6 Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment. 7
