And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
