۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
