And the disbelievers said, “Will we, when we and our forefathers have turned into dust, be removed again?” 67 “Indeed this promise was given to us, and before us to our forefathers – this is nothing but stories of former people.” 68 Say, "Roam across the earth and observe what was the end of the sinful ones." 69 Do not be sorry for them, nor be distressed for what they devise. 70 Yet they say: "When will this promise come to pass? (Tell Us) if you speak the truth." 71 Say, “It could be that a part of what you are impatient for is (already) after you.” 72 And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show gratitude." 73 But, verily, thy Sustainer knows all that their hearts conceal as well as all that they bring into the open: 74 All the secrets in heavens and earth are recorded in the illustrious Book. 75 Indeed this Qur'an explains to the children of Israel much of what they are at variance. 76 It is a guidance and a mercy to believers. 77 Surely, by His Judgement, your Lord will decide between them. He is the Mighty, the Knower. 78 Therefor (O Muhammad) put thy trust in Allah, for thou (standest) on the plain Truth. 79 Truly thou canst not cause the dead to listen, nor canst thou cause the deaf to hear the call, (especially) when they turn back in retreat. 80 just as thou canst not lead the blind [of heart] out of their error; none canst thou make hear save such as [are willing to] believe in Our messages, and thus surrender themselves unto Us. 81 ۞ And when the Word (promise) appears upon them, We shall bring forth for them a beast from the earth to speak to them – because the people were not accepting faith in Our signs. (This beast will rise from the earth, when the Last Day draws near.) 82
